APC rejects journalists for F/T Mayor
The Electoral College of the governing All People's Congress last night voted for Franklyn Bode Gibson as the party's candidate for Mayor of Freetown in November's municipal election. He polled 106 votes beating off seven others including two journalists.
Rights groups challenge political parties
Ahead of November's presidential and legislative elections in Sierra Leone,
39 human rights and civil society organisations have challenged the
country's registered political parties to commit themselves to
respecting human rights.
ACC probes SLBC

Deputy Commissioner of the Anti Corruption Commission, Morlai Buyah Kamara
has told a meeting of Civil Society groups and journalists in
Freetown that his commission is at present investigating key
institutions in the country including the Sierra Leone Broadcasting
Corporation (SLBC), the Sierra Leone Ports Authority, Immigration,
ACC engages the physically challenged in Makeni.
The northern regional office of the Anti Corruption Commission has rekindled the
hopes of polio persons in Makeni for a better life by expressing its
commitment to working for a corrupt-free Sierra Leone where the
socio-economic needs of every citizen would be met.
US Top Soja supports Salone for Somalia
