The Minister of Technical and Higher Education Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie has warned the public against falling for scammers who disguise and claim to be authorities in the sector in order to extort money from the public by asking for money as a requirement for international scholarship and grant-in-aid opportunities.
Medical screening required for ETU entry – Registrar

As part of the entry requirement into the Eastern Technical University (ETU), John Juana Registrar of the University has said that every new student at the university will be required to undergo a medical screening before admission.
He made the statement on the 11th of September 2023 at the official launch of a health facility called Express Care Medical Clinic in Kenema.
Dep. Info Minister praises role of media in a democracy

Deputy Minister of Information and Civic Education, Yusuf Keketoma Sandi has recognised the positive contribution of Sierra Leone’s Media in the country’s democratic trajectory.
He made the statement during a training of Managers and Editors on Media Governance, Management, Digitalisation and Ethics, organised by the Independent Media Commission (IMC) in Freetown, Thursday 14th September.
He said the media can also be used as an effective instrument to achieve developmental objectives.

The ECOWAS Rice Observatory (ERO) has launched the Sierra Leone Chapter. The move according to Deputy Minister 2 of Agriculture Sahr Hemore is to actualize President Julius Maada Bio’s ‘Feed Salone’ agenda.
The ERO chapter of Sierra Leone: Sierra Leone Rice Observatory (SLeRO) was launched on the 14th of September 2023 at a rice stakeholder meeting in Freetown.
