The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has held a regional consultative engagement with stakeholders on developing tracking mechanisms for effective monitoring of factors surrounding climate change.

In his statement, the Deputy Director of Climate change at EPA, Tamba Emmanuel Nyaka said‘’We want to see the use of tracking mechanism tools that will ensure effective mitigation on climate change,’’ he said.

President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, has at a regional journalism conference in Nigeria stated that  media development bodies and journalists’ unions in West Africa should  collaborate with relevant actors, including governments, to guarantee press freedom.

Justice Adrian Fisher, presiding over the ongoing corruption trial with respect to the renovation of the Sierra Leone UN mission chancery building in New York, has promised that the case will be completed by December 2023. 

The judge told the crowded court in Freetown on Wednesday 26^th July 2023 that he would now be giving short adjournments and would spend more time in court when the trial resumes.

The newly- appointed Press Secretary  in the Office of the President, Solomon Jamiru, has  visited Politico newspaper  as part of his meeting –the- media initiative, following his recent appointment.

Accompanied by State House Communications Manager Tanu Jalloh, he told the Politico staff on Thursday 27^th July 2023 that his office exists because of the media and that the communications unit thought it necessary to visit media houses to demonstrate that they and journalists are in the business together.
