Members of Sierra Leone Parliament will elect a new Speaker tomorrow 13^th July 2023 to lead the sixth Parliament of the republic.

According to the Clerk of Parliament Umar Paran Tarawally, MPs will  elect the Speaker after they would have been  sworn into office.

 59-year-old Kadie Hassan’s lifeless body was found under her bedroom mattress at her Bofla Community residence between Benguema Road and Fulla Town in Waterloo, in the Western Rural Area.

According to police officers at the Waterloo division, the deceased woman was found with her two ears mutilated and her feet tied, with lacerations all over her body.

The body of a twelve year- old boy Morali Fofana has been found at Pa Morlai Wharf in Masorie Village, on the outskirts of Waterloo.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday 9^th July 2023 after the boy together with his three friends went swimming that day.

Following the dominance of the yet-to-be-sworn-in Sixth Parliament by the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) both parties will still have a lion’s share of the council seats across the country.

This became evident after Chief Electoral Commissioner Mohamed Konneh announced on Tuesday 11^th July the final results of the 24^th June local council election.

The Board of Directors of the Company of Mutawifs for African non-Arab Countries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the weekend organised a send-off dinner to mark the end of 1444/2023 Hajj for pilgrims from Subsaharan African countries.
The event, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was also attended by Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives of non-Arab African countries in Saudi Arabia whose pilgrims participated in this year's Hajj.
