Man docked for robbery with aggravation

One Mohamed Komasi, a resident of Magazine Cut in Freetown has appeared in court facing four counts of robbery with aggravation, wounding, wounding with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 32 year old is alleged to have robbed a bag from a truck driver called Osman Kamara. He is also accused of stabbing him on both hands at a place called Fire Burn in Freetown.

2023 Manifesto: APC promises to fix the economy

FBC lecturer’s alleged killer arraigned

 34-year-old accused Herbalist, Ibrahim M. Kaloko, has appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 over the killing of Fourah Bay College (FBC) lecturer, Kabba Santigie Bangura, with one count of murder levied against him.

The charge sheet states that on Monday 6th March 2023, Kaloko allegedly murdered Bangura at Shebora Town in Waterloo.

CSOs take land laws to the people

A platform of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) named Land for Life which seeks to promote inclusive, people-centered land governance in Sierra Leone has taken the Customary Land Rights Act, 2022 to the provincial people.

The event titled the People’s Land Forum Conference was held at the Bombali District Council Hall on the 29th of May 2023 in Makeni.

Teacher murder: Witness “saw the accused enter the house of the late teacher”

The second prosecution witness in the preliminary investigation into the alleged murder of a teacher from Providence Secondary School has told a magistrate in Freetown that while he didn’t see the accused schoolboy kill his 68-year-old teacher, he saw him enter the late man’s house.

Ibrahim Mansaray told Magistrate Mark Ngegba that the accused Aroun Conteh was the only person he saw entering the home of the late Gilis Edwin Ola Johnson on the day he was killed.

NASSIT forgery case goes to High Court

Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court has committed a National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) survivor benefit fraud case for trial in the High Court. He said there was sufficient evidence to try 46 year old Aloysius Borbor Barber in the High Court, rejecting an application by defence lawyer John JG Williams for the case to be dismissed.
