Joint Force Commander explains how he was ambushed

The Joint Force Commander of the RSLAF, has told the ongoing court martial that about 18:00 hours on Saturday 25th November 2023, he was at his office at the Cockerill headquarters in Freetown doing his routine check on the alertness of his personnel when he received a phone call from a security agent saying that an unknown person has claimed that Freetown would come under attack that night.

Over 3,866% increase in Kush users-Health Minister

Updating the public about the spate of drug abuse in Sierra Leone, the Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby has, in a Town hall conversation on how to fight against Kush, disclosed that between 2020 to 2023 they recorded an increase of over 3,866% of Kush users across the country. 

Demby made this statement on 2nd April this year at the Bintumani Conference Hall –venue for a Town hall meeting on how to combat kush and other harmful drugs. 

Kenema airfield to become Mini-Economic Zone

The Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning Dr. Turad Senesie has in a meeting with community stakeholders disclosed plans of transforming the Kenema Airfield into a Mini-Economic zone.

Senesie on a trip to that part of the country on 3rd April told Stakeholders that the government intends to use proceeds from the Airfield to develop another airfield stationed between Kenema and Bo.

Sesay, expressing his taught in a press conference organized by the National Union of Sierra Leone Students (NUSS) on 4th of April this year, in which they discussed solutions on how to combat Kush and other harmful substances.
