Following the death of a twenty-eight-year-old woman whose death is allegedly a result of Gender Based Violence (GBV) and the cry of a visually impaired cesarean patient who called for help from an allegedly abusive husband, Women’s Forum and other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have called for these matters to be investigated and justice served.

Lance Corporal Abu Bakarr Koroma alias opanday is now a free man after he was found not guilty on grounds of insanity at the time of allegedly committing mutiny, murder and other military offences in connection with the November 2023 failed coup.

During the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Budget hearing at the Ministry of Finance main conference room on the 19^th of August 2024, the Registrar at the Civil Service Training College (CSTC), Mohamed Taylor explained how they plan to transform the institution into a Public Service Academy (PSA) by 2029.

The transformation is one of the college’s five-year strategic plans which also includes renovation and expansion of existing facilities to accommodate more trainees and provide a modern learning environment.

Two years on since a 22 year old  IPAM student, Namisa Fatmata Kamara’s body was found in a shallow grave at the compound of the Bobani-Brownes at Sumaila town on the 9^th August, 2022, the family is still wondering when they could get  justice for their daughter.

Mariama Kargbo, the mother of the late Namisa told Politico that since the incident happened two years ago when the Police obtained statement and promised to get back to them, they are yet to hear a word from the authorities.
