Gov’t commits to expand surgical services for all

Sierra Leonean’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has pledged the Government's commitment to ensure expanded access to surgical services for all, across Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the 64th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) on the theme “Access to safe and affordable surgical anesthesia care in West Africa”, Jalloh said they will expand until every Sierra Leonean can access quality surgical services that they may need regardless of their income.

Over 300 Sierra Leoneans stranded in Niger-Labour Minister

Minister of Labour and Employment, Mohamed Rahman Swaray has said that over three hundred Sierra Leoneans are stranded in Niger in bid to go overseas, despite the government’s ‘efforts’ to dissuade illegal migration.

Swaray made this statement at the fourth anniversary of the Institute of Human Resources, Sierra Leone at the Freetown City Hall conference room.

‘Kush smoker’ allegedly beaten to death

Police at the East-end Police Division in Freetown are investigating the death of 19-year-old Joseph Wusu Kabia Junior, an alleged ‘Kush smoker’ who is alleged to have been beaten to death at the ‘Fen-Fen corner’ community between Fourah Bay Road and Guard Street on the 29th February, 2024.

Wife accused of killing soldier husband, jurors to decide

Justice Sulaiman Bah, presiding over a murder trial of Ntuma Mansaray nee Bangura accused of killing her soldier husband Mamoud Mansaray, has told the court he will do his summing up this Monday 4th March 2024, to be followed by jurors’ verdict.

Justice Bah’s announcement came after the state prosecution and defence lawyers made their closing statements.
