SLESHI promotes health insurance scheme

The Sierra Leone Social Health Insurance (SLeSHI) has engaged stakeholders from the Kono, Kailahun, and Kenema districts in popularizing an insurance health scheme for the citizenry.

The event was held at the Kenema District Council Hall on the 1st December 2023.

The Director-General of SLeSHI, Dr. Michael Amara said the engagement was to inform the people about the health insurance package that has been developed that will address various conditions and illnesses of clients.

Waterloo Police present 37 escaped inmates

Officers of Waterloo Police Division on Thursday 30th November 2023 handed over 37 inmates to Prison authorities. The inmates were rearrested after the security breach in two Correctional Centres in Freetown.

Sierra Leone working to outlaw stigmatising people living with HIV/AIDS

The Director General of the National Aids Secretariat (NAS), Abdul Rahman Sesay has expressed the need for an anti-stigma policy, saying they are working on having a policy that will stop the stigmatisation of HIV/AIDS patients across the country.

Sesay was speaking in a media brief on Friday 1st December at their head office in Freetown where he said they could not celebrate this year’s World HIV/AIDS Day due to what he described as the current security situation in the country.

NCD calls for a peaceful Sierra Leone
