President Julius Maada Bio has used an address to his ruling party MPs at a dinner on Saturday 20th January, 2024 to respond to criticisms of the government's handling of issues around the relocation of former President Ernest Bai Koroma to Nigeria for medical treatment. Dr. Koroma was due to go on trial for treason and other offences arising from the failed coup attempt of November 26, 2023, on 17th January but was granted bail and permitted to leave the country.

Anti-Corruption Commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala has told the media that the wife of the Clerk of Parliament Abibatu Tarawally has repaid 131 thousand new Leones she reportedly received as salaries from Parliament without reporting for work since her appointment .Kaifala said twenty thousand Leones balance is yet to be paid.

Traders along Abacha Street in Freetown’s Central Business District have expressed their delight and support at the recent action by the Government through the Ministry of Transport and Aviation to stop vehicles and push carts from parking or accessing the street within a stipulated time frame, effective midnight 28th January, 2024.
Nancy Thomas, a trader welcomed the news to stop transport vehicles more so heavy trucks from plying that route considering how congested the place has been.

In bid to expedite crimes cases, the Commissioner of the Sierra Leone Police, Joseph Ibrahim Lahai has launched a five-day training programme for ten police officers on crime investigations including operating a forensic device.
The event took place at the Kingtom Police facility, Freetown on Monday 22nd January, 2024.
The ten officers selected from different units and departments in the Sierra Leone Police, are being trained by a Chinese Engineer named Huang.

According to findings revealed in the Auditor General’s Report, Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has not been paying Good and Services Tax (GST) to the National Revenue Authority (NRA), promptinghe Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament Segepoh Solomon Thomas to rule that EDSA resolves the issue with NRA.
