Thieves raid Biobele’s home, police announce Le.10 million reward

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has announced a Le10million reward for information as it mounts investigation into a suspected burglary on the residence of the lead judge in the ongoing Commissions of Inquiry (COI).

The Secretariat of the COI on Monday said Justice Biobele Goergewill’s residence was raided by alleged thieve (s) in the early hours of the morning and carted away with valuables that include his personal computer.

New British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone takes charge September

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the United Kingdom has named a new High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Politico has learnt.

Simon Mustard, who will replace Guy Warrington, is expected to assume office in September, according to a press statement.

The statement said Mr Warrington will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.

Young Sierra Leoneans clean Freetown on Mandela Day

A group of young Sierra Leoneans spent the better part of last Thursday, July 18 cleaning strategic parts of the capital, Freetown as part of commemoration of Mandela Day.

Mandela Day was set aside by the United Nations to remember the former South African anti-Apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela. The day coincides with his birthday.

Sierra Leone APPA calls for united front

The Chairperson of the All Political Parties Association (APPA), Augusta James Teima, has called on the association to unite amidst division in their ranks. The call comes following the rescindment of an injunction on the association from undertaking any of its functions under the name “APPA”.

Teima made the call during a press conference on Thursday at the Political Parties Registration Commission headquarters.

AYV to hold parliamentary by-election debate
