NCRA to upgrade Civil Registration database

As part of their key deliverables for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) is set to upgrade the Civil Registration Database and Network Infrastructure to share data with priority institutions using the Data sharing Layer.

The priority institutions to share data with are; the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), National Revenue Authority (NRA), Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), Education, Financial Institutions. NASSIT and Immigration.

Boycotting APC MPs may forfeit seats after seven more sittings – Speaker warns

Members of Parliament Elect from the Main Opposition All People’s Congress (APC) who are yet to be sworn in because of a boycott have only seven more sittings remaining, the Speaker of Parliament Chernor Abass Bundu has warned.

Bundu made this warning on the 12th of October 2023 in parliament in light of the fact that MPs who absent themselves from 30 consecutive sittings, will be removed.

Koidu City Council has highest number of female councillors, 50%

Among the 22 local Councils in Sierra Leone, the Koidu City Council (KCC) recorded the highest number of elected female councilors in the June 2023 General Elections.  

The council’s composition is evenly distributed at 50 percent male and 50 percent female. This according to the Information Officer at the Local Government Ministry, Frederick Kanneh is the highest number of women representation in the history of the Council. However, the Kono District Council has only 28% of female elected councilors.

Climate change a developmental problem – says KKY
