Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, Desmond Babatunde Edwards, has called on stakeholders to collaborate and support the judiciary to set up a special court dedicated to addressing HIV related human right violations.
The Chief Justice made this call at an opening ceremony of a two day meeting on HIV, Human Right and Social Justice held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown from 17th to 18th November, 2023.

The Deputy Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Emily Kadiatu Gogra has emphasized that teachers’ regular attendance is essential in completing the school curriculum.
She made the observation during an on-the-spot visit to the Saint Francis Secondary School, Makeni on the 17th November, 2023 where he watched the admission of students who had passed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for entry into Senior Secondary School (SSS).

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has cautioned public officials against using officially-assigned Government vehicles and other property in a manner that is inconsistent with the use of public assets.
In a Press release dated 17th November, 2023 it noted that the use of Government property should be in line with the “Best Practice Guide on the Use of Government Vehicles, Government Quarters, Telephones, Computers and other Office Equipment” developed by the Commission.

A twenty-two room corrugated iron-sheet building at Savaga Street, Freetown was around 1700 GMT Tuesday 14th November completely gutted by fire, leaving many homeless.
One of the affected persons,Musa Bayoh told Politico that some co-tenants believed it was caused by either electrical fault or flames from cooking . ”There were no death and no injuries,” he said, saying lot of property got burnt including the money he saving in a special box.

A certified accountant and multinational expert in auditing, Jonathan Lamboi, has testified before a tribunal set up to investigate the suspended Sierra Leone’s Auditor General and her deputy, Lara Taylor-Peace and Tamba Momoh respectively, that the country’s Audit Service violated ethical conduct in its auditing.
Lamboi told the tribunal in Freetown on Thursday 16th November 2023 that the audit service violated the ethical procedure regarding a third party confirmation.

Police Personnel of the Family Support Unit (FSU) at Newton (4 Mile) Police Post, Waterloo Division, have arrested 21-year-old Zainab Marian Koroma of Five Mile Community, Newton (4 Mile) over alleged stealing of a 3-year-old boy Abu Bakarr Koroma of Blackhall Road, Coconut Farm, Eastend of Freetown.
The Waterloo Police acting on intelligence arrested the suspect on the 15th November, 2023.
