Salone Premier League…Club registration deadline tomorrow

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has set aside Friday 26April as deadline for all clubs to register for the start of the Sierra Leone Premier League (SPL).

According to the Public Relations Officer of the SLFA  Sorie Ibrahim Sesay,  “this delay in registration is one of the unforeseen circumstances we have been referring to, which has resulted in the postponement of the premier league on several times”.

Asked if letters of notification are normally sent to the clubs, he replied that they inform them by calling their Secretaries and Team Managers.

“FCC must embrace the team”- Coach Hassan

The coach for Freetown City Football Club Coach , Hassan Kamara  has appealed to the Management and Staff of the Freetown City Council to embrace the club once again.

Speaking to Politico Sport after their pre-season match against FC Kallon  at the Kaytee field, Kingtom, Coach Hassan said it was time the Council gave the team their fullest support. ‘’As you can see only few staff members are here with the team’’.

Basket Ball playoffs…YSC through to the finals

The Young Men Sports Club (YSC) has secured a place in the final of the Sierra Leone Basketball Association (SLBA) 2013 playoffs, awaiting the winner between Kennedy Nets and Cannon Royals, to be played May 10, at the basketball arena of the national stadium.

WAFA meets Division Clubs

The Secretary General of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) Kasho J. Holland-Cole has announced that they will be meeting with all division 1 and 2 and female clubs, tomorrow Friday 26, at the Football Academy.

He said the clubs will be informed about the date for the start of the league, the format, club registration and "other relevant matters relevant to the smooth-running of the league season".

Premier League clubs set up Super League

Officials from ten Premier League football clubs have released a statement saying they will start a Super League on Saturday 20th April because the "Normalisation Committee and the SLFA secretariat are unable to organise a premier league and have done everything to stall the process".
