The attempt by East End Lions (the Killers) to win their second match in the league last week was stopped by their rivals Kissy All Stars who scored deep into the second half. It remains to be seen how the dogfight between them and the Water Front boys, Ports Authority will play out.
Sierra Leone clubs fail to impress in continental club competitions
Both of Sierra Leone's clubs in the CAF Champions' League and Confederation Cup competitions failed to win against their Guinean and Camerounian counterparts on Saturday. In a match in Freetown that was dominated by the visitors, Ports Authority drew goalless against Horoya Athletic of Guinea, while FC Kallon lost 1-0 to Union Sportive Douala of Cameroon.
E.E. Lions coach praises opponents, blames own defence
Coach Abdulai Kaloga of East End Lions FC says Kissy All Stars' equaliser against his team during today's National premiership encounter was “deserving”. Responding to post-match questions, Coach Kaloga said “they [Kissy All Stars] had a good game and their equalizer was a deserving one”, adding that the 1-1 outcome of the match was a disappointing result which he blamed on “defensive blunder and lack of commitment and focus” on the part of the players.
