Coach Musa Kallon takes over Mighty Blackpool

Politico can authoritatively report that former Sierra Leone international, Musa Kallon is to immediately take over as coach of struggling Mighty Blackpool, initially for the remaining five matches of the first round of the current Sierra Leone Premier League.

A senior official of the management team of Blackpool told Politico last night that there was an agreement in principle for Kallon to take over but a “few details are still being worked out”.

Goals galore: MACOSA-FBC 6  UNIMAK 2

The Mass Communication Students Association (MACOSA) has defeated the University of Makeni (UNIMAK) Communication’s Department by 6 goals to 2 at SS Camp Community field, Regent Village.

The student friendship and solidarity match took place on Wednesday 15th September 2021.

UNIMAK were the first to score with just 5 minutes into the match. MACOSA’s talisman Joseph a final honours 2 student, lifted the home crowd, netting the equaliser shortly.

Over new Blackpool role, Rodney Michael to meet Club elders

One of Sierra Leone’s most celebrated football clubs Mighty Blackpool has dissolved its Steering Committee that had been in place since 10th March 2020 and set up a Working Committee.  At the helm of the new arrangement is popular football administrator Rodney Michael.  However since the list bearing the names of persons of members of the committee appeared, Michael has remained coy on the matter.

Apparently undecided over the appointment, Michael explained to Politico that he would make his position known after he had met with Elders of the club.

Bo Rangers appoints two foreign coaches

Ahead of the Sierra Leone Premier league slated to resume on 11 September 2021, the leading team of the Sierra Leone Premier League, Bo Rangers has on Monday 6th September 2021 unveiled two foreign coaches to fans at the Club House in Bo.  

Jose Solomon Cortes, a Swedish national was appointed head coach of the team while Mamadou Camara, a Guinean national was appointed goalkeeper coach.

Sierra Leone starts vaccination of footballers and officials

The National Coronavirus Response Centre (NaCOVERC) and Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) have launched a Covid 19 vaccination campaign for players and officials of football clubs that will commence tomorrow 31st August, 2021.

The said vaccination drive, according to the joint communique between the two bodies, will commence at the Siaka Stevens Stadium’s Presidential Stand. It will also be extended to the Provinces at designated venues.
