Sport Commentary: When ends the madness bedevilling Sierra Leone Football go away?

For over seven years now football administration in Sierra Leone has been dogged by intrigue and unending rift amongst people who were supposed to ensure that sanity reigns in the game. People who much was expected of  whether by omission or commission stifled the progress of the game by inventing counter-productive measures or resorting to sometimes crude destructive tactics to bury the ambitions of perceived opponents just to maintain the status quo.

Sierra Leone FA Nominations Rocked by Rejection and Violence

Violence and controversy have marred the final day of nominations for candidates vying for executive positions including the Presidency, of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), an event that took place at the FA’s Kingtom facility in Freetown. Reports have emerged of some candidates being denied approval by the SLFA Secretariat with former Leone Stars captain Mohamed Kallon said to be one of those affected.

Sierra Leone lifts ban on sports

The Ministry of Sports (MOS) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have last Monday 4th January lifted the ban on all sporting activities across the country after an engagement with the National COVID-19 Response Centre (NaCOVERC).

SLFA warns Michael against "Defamatory Comments"

In a press release issued on Monday, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has warned recently declared Association Presidential aspirant, Rodney Michael to desist from all forms of false, malicious and defamatory statements directed at SLFA, members of its executive, CAF and FIFA.

Days before kick-off in Freetown Draw for WAFU U-17 tournament postponed

The much anticipated draw for the West Africa Football Union (WAFU ) U-17 tournament that was to have taken place on Monday 7th December has been postponed. The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) in a press release stating the postponement, did not give reasons for that, or any new date, but said it will be communicated to the public in due course. Home Suites hotel at Aberdeen in Freetown was where the draw would have taken place.
