Equatorial Guinea eliminated

The Organising Committee of the African Cup of Nations has disqualified Equatorial Guinea from the playoffs of the Orange African Cup of nations in Morocco 2015.

This decision was reached recently following a protest by the Mauritania Football Federation arising from the first round play-off fixture of 17th May 2014 played in Nouakchott.

Kallon ready to serve

The newly appointed head coach of the national U-17 squad Mohamed Kallon has told Politico that he was always ready to serve his country.

“Taking the job is a big opportunity for me, transferring my knowledge in the area of football to these young players at national level is important” said Kallon.

He described his appointment as a test case, after receiving  his ‘C’ License in coaching. He said, ‘’the task ahead is heavy but with the support of the SLFA, we will reach our goal’’.

Airtel Rising Stars...Kenema and Kono gets qualifiers

The Airtel Rising Stars Season Four matches have commenced in the provincial towns of Kenema and Kono where qualifiers has emerged.

Last weekend in Kenema, Kallon FC defeated Kahunla Rangers 3-1 on post games penalties to emerge as champions in the boy’s category.

In the girls category Jam Jam FC lost 2-1 to Kahunla Queens.

In Kono Fofanah FC are champions after defeating Sangafully FC 6-5 on postgame penalties in the boy’s category.

"Mckinstry's list is authentic" Bakarr Kamara

The acting Head of Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Abu Bakarr Kamara has said that the players invited by national team coach Jonathan McKinstry for Leone Stars match against Seychelles was authentic.

Kamara said the list was approved by the technical director and the ministry of sports. He said training is expected to start soon for the home-base players while the professionals are expected to arrive a week before the match.

WAFRA ELECTION Put On Hold

The Western Area Football Association (WAFA) has put on hold the intended Western Area Football Referees Association (WAFRA) election which was scheduled to have taken place on Tuesday 3rd May, 2014 at the Football Academy in Kingtom, Freetown. The Secretary General of WAFA, Kasho Holland Cole said the decision  to stop the election was due to the petition filed by some prominent referees in the region.

CBF debuts in Milk Cup Tournament

The Craig Bellamy Foundation for the first time will be participating in the MILK CUP Competition to be held in Northern Ireland in July. It is a competition that is organized annually for Youth Academies around the world. This year’s edition is one that is to attract 32 youth teams from major clubs in Europe and the Americas .
