FA Cup Update: Johansen, Real Mack, Edwards and Kholifa Stars Out

The LEOCEN - sponsored FA Cup has reached the quarter final stages with some big names going out. FC Johansen suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away to Bo Rangers in a match played over the weekend at the  Kenema town field. Bo Rangers are in the quarter finals of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

Diamond Stars misery continues

Diamond Stars, back-to-back champions in the Sierra Leone Premier league, who recently crashed out of the FA Cup,  faced another defeat, this time  a 2-1 loss to FC Johansen in the league.

Coach Derrick Boison described the defeat as ‘’unfortunate’’, claiming  they deserved a fairer result which would have been reflective of what he said was a ‘’good performance” by his boys.

FA Cup draw produces thrilling fixtures

The FA Cup round of 16 draw has been described by coaches as quite transparent with what are expected to be very thrilling encounters already slated.The coaches say the teams are very tough and will be ready to face the heavy tasks ahead. Coach of Old Edwardians Football Club,Ahmidu Freaky Koroma whose side will play East End lions, described it  as a ‘’tough draw’’.

Geoma Jorgoh in financial crisis

One of the revelations in this year’s FA Cup , Geoma Jorgoh football club from Kailahun District are in deep financial crisis ahead of their crucial FA Cup round of 16 fixture with Edmond Michael Foundation slated for 18th April at the Bo Coronation Field.The Chairman of the Eastern Region Football Association(ERFA), Morrison Sannoh told Politico sports that they are in dire need of funds and other basic resources to run the club.

"Physical exercise makes healthy growth" Okon

"Jog for Jesus" organized by Sport life Ministry International  is to help bring the young and the old together in a physical exercise so as to generate a healthy status and  longevity in one’s life span.The Director of the jogging event, Okon Koroma said the exercise is for everybody as long as one is ready to  take part. FA CUP update...Misery for Ibrahim FC and Blackpool

Mighty Black pool and Ibrahim FC are out of the FA Cup after they were beaten by Real Mack and Freetown City football Club in the second leg matches, respectively. Ibrahim FC lost 3-1  to go out 4-1 on aggregate, while Blackpool suffered a shocking defeat at  the hands of Freetown City Football Club 1-0 in the second leg after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.  Head coach of Blackpool, Abu Sankoh  was disappointed at the result  and said they were unlucky in the entire match. ‘’We had chances to score but to no avail and Freetown City got their goal and that made the difference.
