Mighty Black pool and Ibrahim FC are out of the FA Cup after they were beaten by Real Mack and Freetown City football Club in the second leg matches, respectively. Ibrahim FC lost 3-1  to go out 4-1 on aggregate, while Blackpool suffered a shocking defeat at  the hands of Freetown City Football Club 1-0 in the second leg after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.  Head coach of Blackpool, Abu Sankoh  was disappointed at the result  and said they were unlucky in the entire match. ‘’We had chances to score but to no avail and Freetown City got their goal and that made the difference.

The Freetown Marathon is gaining momentum gradually across the country as Athletes are bracing up to take part in this years event schedule for the 26^th April in Freetown. Sundufu Sowa the Competitions Director said the competitions is going to be very competitive as  lots of Athletes both local and international have consented to participate in the event.

The national Under - 20 football team, Shooting Stars face a daunting task against their Guinean counterparts away in Conakry despite defeating the Guineans at home last weekend in the first leg of the African Youth championship preliminary stages. The only goal was scored by Sorie Barrie in the 28^th minute of the first half at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni.

The elective congress of the Sierra Leone Lawn Tennis Association is scheduled to take place on the 19^th April 2014 with incumbent  president Kelvin Ezekiel Kelly seeking a second mandate

Speaking to newsmen Kelly said during his first time term, the challenges were many but that they were able to overcome most of them through the work of the executive. He pledged to "continue where I stopped and take the association to the next level and reach the peak were everybody is yearning for".

The FA Cup tournament is intensifying in the round of 32 in the Western Area and the provincial cities.

Diamond Stars, the Premier League Champions and Ports Authority have crashed out.  Diamond Stars were eliminated by Kholifa Stars of Magburaka 5-4 on a post game penalties in Kono over the weekend, after a 3-3 Draw in both ties.

The national Under 20 team, Shooting Stars are undergoing intensive training ahead of the African Youth Championship to be held in Dakar, Senegal. They host their Guinean counterparts in the first leg in the preliminary round on the 5^th April at Wusum Field in Makeni.

Thirty two (32) home-based players from different football clubs across the country are in the squad now training at the SLFA football academy in Freetown.

Aureole Insurance Company has presented a giant trophy to the Western Area Volley Ball Association, WAVA for their Inter Club championships.

According to a member of the organizing committee, Florence Amara, the arrival of the trophy has "increased the energy of the participating teams in the Western Region". She disclosed that the company also donated three million Leones as part of their sponsorship package to the tournament. She said "It was an enormous boost and a very timely one indeed".
