COFA League starts this weekend…Real Mack vs. Mountain City

By Kemoh Sesay

The non-division Central One Football Association (COFA) league starts this weekend at the parade grounds with defending champions Real Mack FC locking horns with Mountain City.

Thirty-two teams are set to be part in this year’s competition as they have been divided into six groups.

John Victor Konneh head coach of Real Mack told Politico that his boys are doing well in training ahead of the competition, noting that as defending champions everybody is looking up to them for better performance which he believes they are determined to do.

Konneh recalled that last season they weren’t the favorite team to reach the finals “but we got there…which is great for us”. He said, “With the support I have from the club’s Executive and my technical team the sky will be the limit in this year’s competitions”.

Coach Konneh who was crowned best Coach in last season’s competition, promised to improve on his coaching techniques to retain his award.

Head coach of Mountain City Swaibu Kargbo promised spectators that his boys will spring surprises in the competition. Kargbo said “We want to keep winning until we reach the grand final which is our aim…our opponent is a very strong side and as defending champions they are being tipped to win the championship, but I am optimistic about getting victory on Sunday”.
