By Mohamed Vandi in Kenema
Yesterday, 4 July, we ran a story about the death of a man in Kenema, Mohamed Alieu who had been bitten by his wife and died allegedly of his injuries.
Well now police have arrested the alleged killer, Jattu Mohamed of IDA Section in Kenema and say she will soon be charged to court.
Police Constable Brima Jusu Musa of the Community Relations Department told Politico that the suspect was arrested early this week by a police officer attached to the disused Kenema Airfield.
He said the suspect disappeared on the day her husband died. Asked whether Jattu was arrested before the result of the autopsy, the officer replied that they acted on circumstantial evidence or preliminary investigation while still awaiting the cause of death.
The medical science officer who carried out the autopsy, Dr. James Massallay said the deceased died as a result of Neutrogenic shock due to fracture to the occiput parietal of the skull 2cm long. He said this was not dental related and could have been caused by a hard hit on the head of the deceased.
