Mobile phone operator, Airtel on Saturday welcomed home Adrian Lewis, aka Bolt, one of Sierra Leone’s participantsat this year’s Africa-wide TV reality show, Big Brother.
Head of Corporate Affairs, June Rose Johnson said Airtel was a proud sponsor of the ongoing Big Brother-The Chase contest which started with two Sierra Leoneans participating until Bolt was evicted. She said the other Sierra Leonean, Bassey was still in the contest.
Airtel’s Commercial Director, Keith Tukei, said they felt it was in line with their Pan African ideology to sponsor this year’s event and expressed the hope that one day a Sierra Leonean would win the star prize of US$ 300,000.
Tukei said Bolt’s life would never be the same again after his participation in The Chase, saying it had brought him massive popularity.
In his remarks, Lewis described his participation at the event as “a worthwhile experience”that had exposed him. He spoke of his plans to further on his talent now that he had got international exposure.
Lewis referred to his moments with Betty, his roommate from Ethiopia as exciting, saying they had fun together and described her as “very beautiful and caring”.
He said he felt bad on being chased out of the House after 5 weeks, because, “I was dreaming about winning the $USD 300,000 star prize”. He prayed that the other Sierra Leonean contestant would win it.
