BELVIC UNITED BOSS DENIES FIXING MATCHES

Following a joint press statement issued by the Ministry of Sports and the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on the 15th July suspending him and nine other stakeholders from football activities on allegations of match-fixing, Victor Lewis, chairman of Belvic United FC, has described the SLFA's statement as "unpleasant and malicious".

He said "I have never been involved in any form of match fixing in my entire life, this is the biggest shock in my life, I want the investigation to go on".

Lewis denied ever traveling to South Africa or being a part of any football delegation with the senior national team (Leone Stars) to any part of the world.

Lewis also said he has never been called upon or questioned by either the ministry of sports or the SLFA regarding any allegation relating to match fixing.

Some of the suspended stakeholders Abdul Kanasieu, Rodney Michael and Morrison Sannoh have equally labelled the release a diversionary tactics from the issue at hand and the SLFA's failure to follow the dictates of the constitution regarding the convening of the annual congress.

They said they were united in their cause to protect the constitution and that the congress was a must.
