Bo Rangers have turned sod for the construction of their club house in Bo. The project is the construction of a two-story building with 16 apartments for players and offices for officials.
In a colorful ceremony on Saturday, club officials, players and fans gathered at Njagboma section in Bo, where the construction site is located to witness the start of the construction.
Club officials told Politico that the project is expected to be completed by March 2020. When it’s completed, Bo Rangers will be the first team in the country to own a club house.
Solomon Demby, the Public Relation Officer of the club, said: “We want to have an international standard. All over the world you need to have a club house if you want to compete. Because we bring players here that are not from Bo, so mostly we need to put them up somewhere till they can settle and get a place for themselves.”
Rangers have invested heavily on recruitment this season. They have signed more than seven players throughout the window to strengthen their team. All of whom are not indigenes of Bo.
Demby said the club is currently housing their players in a building that they rented around the same area. He said the rent comes at a great financial cost for the club, so it makes sense to have a permanent structure constructed.
“The club house will approximately have 16 rooms, self-contained. It will also have a hall, offices for officials and a car park,” Demby said.
When asked about the cost, Demby said this is still been determined by the contractors and that they hoped to come up with something in the coming days.
Chairman of the Club, Babadi Kamara, has given it a major overhaul since he took over last season. The completion of this project is sure to set the standard very high for rival clubs in the league.
