Sierra Leone recorded 0.94% and 0.59% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Thursday (10:00 am) to Saturday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was higher compared to Ivory Coast (0.35%), Gambia (0.17%), Ghana (0.15%), Guinea (0.78%), Liberia (0.22%), Niger (0.08%), Nigeria (0.47%), Senegal (0.46%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.52%) and the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.54%). However, increase in total cases in Burkina Faso (3.26%), Cape Verde (3.00%), Guinea-Bissau (1.64%), Mali (1.22%), Togo (1.91%), Africa (1.09%), Europe (3.37%), North America (1.39%), South America (1.57%), Asia (2.18%) and World (1.96%) were higher compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total cases.
Cape Verde (3.33%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (1.72%), Gambia (2.68%), %), Senegal (0.32%), ECOWAS (0.27%), Africa (1.02%), Europe (0.72%), North America (0.92%), South America (2.40%), Asia (1.81%) and the World (1.42%). Benin, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (3.75%), Cape Verde (2.31%), Gambia (2.92%), Guinea (0.70%), Senegal (2.07%), Togo (1.6%), ECOWAS (0.69%), Africa (1.06%), Europe (1.59%), North America (1.69%), South America (1.47%), Asia (2.31%) and the World (1.81%). Increase in recoveries in Ivory Coast (0.34%), Ghana (0.41%), Mali (0.57%), Niger (0.09%), Nigeria (0.07%) and MRU (0.45%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
