The death of nine footballers of non- league side Makarie FC of Karene district last weekend continues to attract a lot of sympathy from various quarters. Bo Rangers football club officials led by their Executive Chairman Babadi Kamara visited the North East Region Football Association in Port Loko to identify themselves with the grieving football family. Forty two million and five hundred thousand Leones (le42, 500,000) together with 45 bags of rice were donated by Bo Rangers towards the tragedy.
Babadi Kamara on behalf of the club extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the boys. He stressed the importance of the unifying force behind football which he said all should embrace as a nation.
The players died after their vehicle collided with a truck along the highway to Makeni where they were due to play a match with another club.
