NDA Spokesman To Quit

By Abubakarr Bah

Usually reliable sources have told Politico that the Spokesman of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Chernoh  Alpha Bah will quit the party next week.

Our  sources say Bah is leaving because of disagreements among senior executive members of the party and is unhappy over the decision of the embattled NDA flag bearer, Alhaji Wurie Musidal Jalloh to endorse President Ernest Bai Koroma in the just concluded presidential election.

Bah
reportedly feels betrayed that Musidal Jalloh “conspired” with
the party’s Secretary General, Mohamed S. Jalloh and Abdul Razak
Bah to endorse President Koroma in Makeni two days before the polls.

The
NDA Spokesman’s phone was switched off until press time last night
while Musidal Jalloh declined to comment.

Bah
led his African Socialist Movement in Sierra Leone (ASM) to form a
coalition with the NDA in March 2011. The coalition signed a
constitution titled “No compromise no surrender”, with the aim of
“ending the political monopoly” of the All People's Congress  and
the Sierra Leone People's Party who have ruled Sierra Leone since
independence barring two military coups.

Bah
is credited with using his eloquence to bring visibility to a party
that was otherwise on the margins of Sierra Leone politics.

He lost out in his
bid to represent Constituency 28 in Makeni.
