The head coach of Kamboi Eagles, Francis Zappa Koroma, who doubles as the head coach for the Sierra Leone Home based National Team, has left the club on mutual consent.
Coach Zappa was said to still have two and half years left on his three year contract, but the club in a statement decided to go into negotiations with him. The statement narrated that he is 'desperate' to make a permanent move to Freetown, citing family reasons.
The statement went on to say that a resignation letter dated 4th August, 2022 was directed to the club's Chairman, and copiedthe Secretary of the club. A peaceful negotiation was said to have been reached after the meeting that centered on his remaining contract, noting that an undisclosed fee was later paid to Eagles as compensation.
The club’s management extended its appreciation to Coach Zappa for his role in helping the team to at least maintain its Premier League status last season.
"We wish him all the best in his new adventure," said Chairman Mazola.
According to the club, they will soon release a statement as to who exactly fills in the vacant position as Head Coach of Kamboi Eagles .
Zappa has been rumoured to be eyeing the Head Coach position of East End Lions football club.
