Magistrate Isata Sellu-Tucker, of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown has sentenced Francis Mansaray, Alhaji Sheriff, and eight others to one month imprisonment or pay a fine of NLe 500(five hundred Leones) after they all pleaded guilty of committing loitering offence at Safecon Lumley in Freetown, at about 20:37 hours of Tuesday 7th February 2023.
All 10 accused immediately pleaded guilty to the Public Order Act offence on Friday 10th February 2023 after their file was read out to them.
Their guilty plea was backed up by lawyer Daniel Fofanah, who said they were all first time offenders and youths with a long way to go. He said the whole experience will serve as a lesson to them.
Fofana also reminded the magistrate that the time of their arrest was early hours of the night. The first accused, Mansaray, is a resident of Crab Town in Lumley and a motor vehicle driver’s mate or apprentice. The second accused, Alhaji Sheriff, is a resident of Aberdeen and a garbage collector.
