The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Sierra Leone Police in the southern region is currently investigating Mohamed Marrah and Abu Marrah for allegedly killing Momoh Foray in Fayiama village, Sowa chiefdom, Pujehun district.
In an interview with Politico, the Southern Region Police Media Officer, Alhaji Osman Mansaray explained that on the 30th of April, 2024, police in Bandajuma received a complaint of an alleged killing for which they informed the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police south, Brima Kanneh. He said due to the nature of the report, AIG Kanneh requested that the matter be investigated in Bo and for the two suspects, the corpse and the woman who is allegedly at the centre of the matter be brought to Bo as well.
According to Mansaray, they were informed by the community people that the deceased was in the room with Iye Kamara (a married woman) when someone informed the husband, Mohamed Marrah that she was with another man. He said based on their investigations so far, the husband (Mohamed Marrah) immediately went there and a fight ensued which led to the death of Foray who sustained several wounds.
The Police officer added that from their investigations at Fayiama village, one of the suspects, Abu Marrah is a friend of the deceased and a brother to the husband of Iye and that it was the same Abu that informed his brother, Mohamed about the deceased having time with his wife.
The officer said their investigations are ongoing and that they have a knife in their possession suspected to have been used to commit the crime.
