Abedi calm as Eagles’ slump continues

Kamboi Eagles Coach, Alhaji Foray (Abedi) has said he is not worried about the possibility of losing his job following his team’s recent dip in form.

On Wednesday evening Kamboi Eagles lost for the third time in four consecutive matches. The Eagles lost 2-0 in thrilling encounter against FC Kallon.

In the post-match press briefing, Abedi said: “I am doing a good job as a coach. We have been unlucky; you saw us against FC Johansen and East End Tigers over the weekend in Kenema. We played very well, even tonight we played well. We were just not lucky enough.”

When asked about whether he was worried about his job, he said: “No, I am not worried.”

Abedi has come under fire in recent weeks by fans and some club officials demanding answers about the form of the team. Last week, there were reports suggesting that he was on a tight leash regarding the team’s performance.

The Eagles have lost their top spot following Wednesday’s defeat.

Despite that, Abedi said he is positive that the team will bounce back.

The team captain, Badara Kellah Jnr, said during the press conference that the players were working hard to get back to winning ways.

“We are in a good shape. We expect this; sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. We will bounce back,” he said.

The Eagles will now prepare to face Ports Authority in the capital on Sunday. Abedi is still expected to lead the team out on Sunday. But it is hard to imagine how much longer he can oversee this Eagles side with such a terrible form.
