The Freetown Marathon is gaining momentum gradually across the country as Athletes are bracing up to take part in this years event schedule for the 26th April in Freetown. Sundufu Sowa the Competitions Director said the competitions is going to be very competitive as lots of Athletes both local and international have consented to participate in the event. Registration is on-going and will be closed after they have got the required number of participants that will be taking part and urged interested Athletes to come and register. One of the Athletes, Aruna Bangura is eager to run in his first- ever marathon. “ I want to be part of the tournament and I want to make a mark for myself and country as well.’’ A female Athlete, Nancy John hoped to win the Freetown marathon, ‘’I am in constant training since January and i am hoping to win and make history’’.
