Baimba Sesay set aside again

FC Kallon has announced their decision to set aside their new striker, Baimba Sesay. The decision comes following a ruling by the Emergency Committee of the Premier League Board last week that the player was not properly transferred to the club ahead of their match with Bo Rangers in December.

In a correspondence to the Sierra Leone Football Association by the club on Wednesday, its Secretary General, Alhaji Komba, said the club had taken this latest decision under serious protest considering the “unfair” way they had been treated.

“Without prejudice to the provisions of the rules and regulations cited in the said decision, we want to be on the record that we do not agree to the decision of the said committee, which states that the player, Baimba Sesay, was not properly transferred and therefore cannot play for our club, FC Kallon.”

Baimba, as he is commonly known, has been at the center of a bitter transfer tussle between FC Kallon and FC Johansen. He is one of the most promising Premier League strikers in the country.

Last season, he finished as the second highest goal scorer in the league with 12 goals.

This season, Baimba couldn’t play for almost a month when the league started.

The latest decision by the Emergency Committee and consequently FC Kallon means his growth will once again be halted.

“Consequently, we will implement the decision of the said “PLB Protest and Disciplinary Committee” by shifting Baimba Sesay aside from our team, FC Kallon. And let the relevant authorities and the public know that a huge prospect for the national team, Leone Stars, who also finished as the second-highest goal scorer in the 2018-2019 SL Premier league, has been deprived of playing the league, simply because he chose to play for FC Kallon.”

On Wednesday evening, FC Kallon coach did not include him as part of his squad to face Kamboi Eagles. He said he was worried that the turmoil surrounding the player is already affecting him psychologically.
