Central Community FC will open their Group E match today when they lock horns with Mount Aureole FC at the Parade Grounds in the ongoing Central One Football Association (COFA) Inter Area League.
Coach Ishmael Mammah told Politico that his boys are prepared to take on Mount Aureol and ‘’I have other coaches around me who will make the work easier for me’’.
He said he will bring better players into the team especially young ones because the league provides them a platform to expose their talent.
For his part, Ibrahim P. Bangura, coach of Mount Aureol said, “We are going to play very hard to win our opening match...we will play our normal football and I am calling on our supporters to be there to cheer us to victory”.
On Tuesday 24th September, Clinetonians Community FC secured their first win when they played against Dove Cut Community FC. Ibrahim Mansaray accounted for the only goal of the match.
Head Coach Ibrahim Sesay of Dove Cut described their defeat as unfortunate. He argued that, ‘’My boys wasted so many chances, lately we have been having problems with training as our normal training field is the Fourah Bay field but due to the recent violence no team is allowed to train there anymore. so we did not train ahead of this match’’
Sesay said he hopes to bounce back in their next match against Angola Town.
Hassan Bangura assistant coach of Clinetonians was happy about the win. “This is a remarkable win for the community, it is very difficult to defeat a team like Dove Cut who have players that have been together for a very long time, they dominated us in the match but we made good use of the only chance in the match and I am happy for it” said Bangura.
