A Prosecution Witness in the ongoing preliminary investigation into a case of murder at a magistrate court in Freetown has testified that the accused, Mohamed Jagitay lured the deceased, Ibrahim Jagitay from their residence on the pretext that they were invited to a party.
Witness Amadu Barrie, told Magistrate Mark Ngegba at Pademba Road on Tuesday 3rd October 2023 that on the 27th of July this year, they were together with the deceased and the accused at 5A Conteh Drive, Calaba Town in Freetown between 10 and to 11 pm when the 21-year-old accused invited the deceased to the said party.
He said they did not see the deceased in the morning. So, he informed their uncle, Alpha Jagitay, who is the complainant in the case, about what had transpired. The witness also informed the court that later, they saw a social media post via WhatsApp showing the remains of the 24-year-old deceased and that he made a statement to the police after that.
