Eagles Fight for Survival in Algeria

By Kemoh Sesay

After losing 2-0 to Amel Saad Olympic ASO (Chelf) in Algeria in the first leg of the CAF cup, Kamboi Eagle face an uphill battle to overturn that deficit in the second leg  which takes place on Friday 20 February 2015 in Algeria.

The head coach Alhaji Foray said they have been able to re-build the spirit of the team by infusing "a winning mentality into the boys as they approach the second leg which will be a different scenario", adding that "there is still something to play for on Friday despite our defeat in the first leg ... we have identified the problems by means of a video replay facility and the players have realised and accept their mistakes."

The coach encouraged players, fans and officials at home not to despair over the initial result because they were ready to fight back. He said "if we create and take our chances well the outcome will restore smiles on our faces." He said his players were in good shape and concentrating on the coming match.

The Public Relations Officer of Kamboi Eagles, Ismaile Sesay told Politico on the phone that the players were confident that "they will bounce back and restore smiles to the faces of our fans in Freetown and Kenema."
