Fourah Bay College (FBC) is having its annual Inter-Hall track and field Athletics at the college’s Havelock Grounds-Kortright. The event which started on Thursday ends tomorrow Saturday 11th March 2023.
The Head of Department Games and Sports FBC, Francis Alpha told Politico how delighted they are for this year’s event which he said provides a platform for his department to identify talents and preparing for the upcoming Inter-Varsity Athletics organized by the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education.
Alpha said they are using the opportunity to invite Alumni and philanthropists so they can discuss how they can improve the playground of Fourah Bah College.
“On the 18th February 2027, FBC will be 200 years and it is our aspiration to see that we have a fairly comfortable mini stadium that befits the status of the college as well as that of the country during that celebration”.
Alpha went on to say that they facilitated students participation at the inter-varsity sports last year after a long absence which saw FBC clinch overall second position, coming first in the women’s category of the volleyball competition for women, whilst the men also secured the second position in the same discipline .
Bai Bureh hall took first position in last year’s sport meet while Solomon Caulker and Davidson Nicol came second and third respectively
