A press release issued by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) states that a two-man team from the football governing body is expected in Freetown today 27 August to help in ensuring that the validation process of appointing delegates within the Sierra Leone football fraternity is in line with the laws of both the SLFA and FIFA statutes.
The two-man team includes FIFA’s Primo Corvaro and Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi, they will work with the SLFA and the appointed 7 man committee suggested by President Koroma.
Interim committee Chairman Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay aka Awoko reacted to the release by saying that any FIFA Delegation coming to this country should go through State House, “it is them who should inform us about their coming and not the SLFA whom we have no business with, we have dissolved that executive committee since last year’’ said Awoko.
He went on further to say that the two people who are coming do not have the moral high ground as they were part of the problem during the disputed elections in August 3rd 2013.
“We will only attend any meeting if it is summoned by State House; our position remains the same as nothing will change it’’ Awoko said.
