Fire Force building blaze under investigation- fire chief

The Bo Fire Force Chief, Rev. Emmanuel Morseray has told Politico that cause(s) of the blaze that engulfed their office building past Sunday is being investigated.

The officer confirmed having informed the National Headquarters in Freetown and that personnel will be assigned to find out what went wrong.

He said he was not in town at the time of the incident happened, but has been briefed by his personnel on his return. 

He said the fire entered the regional office through the ceiling and confirmed that documents were burnt notably inside the Sergeant’s Office.

According to the officer, who took charge of the Bo fire force two weeks before, no fire engine was affected, and allayed fears of it possibly affecting their work.

He said they have not reported the incident to the police as they have their personnel who investigate fire cases should they occur at their stations. 

Sub-Inspector Fire Officer Francis Bobson Sowonie explained to Politico that he was on duty at the station when the fire began . 

 He said at around 10 in the morning an officer on duty went to get water to drink and was the one who noticed fire coming from the back of the building. He raised an alarm which prompted all those present to try to extinguish the flames. 

"We put out the fire using our fire engine that was parked at the station. There was enough water in the engine’’,Sowonie stated.

He said no one died or got injured in the incident.
