A joint divisional police operation led by the deputy operations officer for the Bo west division, Inspector Augustine Kabbia in the early hours of Tuesday morning led to the arrest of five men suspected to be armed robbers along Tikonkor Road in Bo.
Inspector Kabbia said that the “all-out raid” came amidst an intelligence report received from an unnamed individual that some unknown people suspected to be criminals were residing in the area. He said he and his team went into action and raided the said house arresting the suspects with items worth million of Leones.
The police media and public relations officer for Bo Central Police Division, Abu-Bakarr Sidique Kamara said that a couple of days ago several reports of armed robbery and theft were made by different people adding that some of the items seized in Tuesday’s raid had been claimed by some people. He said that their investigations so far had shown that many of the suspected robbers were not resident in Bo but people who operated in other towns across the country.
The five suspects are said to be helping the police with their investigation.
