Hammers will lock horns with Boie FC tomorrow Thursday 30th October, in the quarter final replay of the 1st edition of the Ishmael Al- Sankoh Conteh football tournament at the Brima Atouga Complex.
Hammer FC over-powered Pizzo FC 3-0 while their opponents Foday Boie FC narrowly defeated Western Eagles 1-0 in the second round of the competition.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides and a win for either will guarantee a place in the semi final, the first for both teams since their inception few months back.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow`s clash, head coach of Boie FC, Gasimu Vandy said his team will win the match. He said: “They have a formidable side but we`ll try to crack them”. "“They are physical, good on the break, and their wingers are quick, but my boys will fill those holes and hopefully make the match a difficult one for them", he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of Hammer FC, Augustine Kamara aka “Hammer Time” also expressed optimism about his side's prospects in Sunday's clash.
Hammer said: "We`re focused and we hope to continue our good run in the competition.” He added, we have won three of our last four matches and if we win today that will take the club to another level. We have played against tough opponents which I think will give my side added advantage".
