Kallon ready to serve

By Kemoh Sesay

The newly appointed head coach of the national U-17 squad Mohamed Kallon has told Politico that he was always ready to serve his country.

“Taking the job is a big opportunity for me, transferring my knowledge in the area of football to these young players at national level is important” said Kallon.

He described his appointment as a test case, after receiving  his ‘C’ License in coaching. He said, ‘’the task ahead is heavy but with the support of the SLFA, we will reach our goal’’.

Kallon said his boys were doing well in training as most of them have gone through the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test, to verify their age, but they were still awaiting the results.

Musa Kallon, who is also part of the technical team said it was a blessing for Sierra Leone to have talented players who are ready to learn and eager to play football for the country, “this set of players can change the face of football in this country as in the not- -too- distant future they will replace those who play in the senior side”.

Musa, the elder brother of Mohamed confirmed that they have a free hand in their work and the condition in which they were operating was good.

Sierra Stars will host Tunisia on the 20 of July in the African Youth Qualifying series.
