Striker, Kei Ansu Kamara has been recalled to the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars following his apology on social media to the FA. The 35-year-old striker was axed from the list of invited foreign based players last week following his critical comments about the FA on social media.

Kamara blasted the FA and other football stakeholders on the recent situation involving Musa Tombo. In a Facebook post he called football stakeholders including the FA as “hypocrites” in the way they were clamoring around the Tombo issue.

The FA described Kamara’s statement as “professional misconduct”.

His comment and the FA’s stance caused a huge uproar dividing opinions among fans in the process.

“I am apologize to every Sierra Leonean for the way I talked backed at you. I love every one of you. In about a week I will be 35 so I want to help the country in this qualifier.” Kamara said.

Kamara has now been included as part of 18 foreign based players invited by Leones Stars by coach, Sellas Tetteh.

Kamara has represented Leone Stars 27 times scoring 4 goals. He is currently playing in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in United States of America with Colorado Rapids.

His inclusion has given coach Tetteh a handful of viable options in the attacking line.

Like the 17 other players he is expected to be in town by the end of the week ahead of the crucial encounter with Liberia on the 4th and 10th September, in Monrovia and Freetown.
