The national football team, Leone Stars start training today ahead of their encounter with the Pirates of Seychelles this weekend in Freetown.
According to the Director of Competitions at the Sierra Leone Football association (SLFA) Sorie Ibrahim Sesay more than half of the professional players invited are in town and the others are expected on Wednesday.
Sierra Leone will play host to Seychelles in the second round of the AFCON 2015 qualifying series. Leone Stars won 2-1 on aggregate against Swaziland in the first round to advance to this stage.
Seychelles sailed through after Gambia were suspended from all Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions for two years for deliberately fielding over-aged players in the 2015 African U-20 Championship qualification match against Liberia.
If Leone Stars defeat the Pirates they will be grouped alongside Ivory Coast, Cameroun and DR Congo. Fourteen teams will play in this round.
