One of Sierra Leone’s most glamorous football clubs Real Republicans are back in the Premier League, after an absence of 13 years. They defeated Great Scarcies 4-2 in a penalty shootout in the promotion playoff that took place at Wusum Field in Makeni.
It was quite an emotional moment for the players, officials and fans of a team dubbed the Soccer Ambassadors for their prowess during their successful years in the past.
Credit should go to the players, Coach Mohamed Jabbie, his backroom staff and the composed and reliable Team Manager Alhaji Umar Bah who all channeled all they can offer, to create this historic return.
On Saturday afternoon the team and officials were at t Team Manger Bah’s office to celebrate their achievement. They had lunch after which Bah presented them with a token in appreciation for overcoming the odds.
Lamboi Fc also qualified for the premier league; they beat Luawa FC.
