Sierra Leone recorded 1.99% and 0.66% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was higher compared to Burkina Faso (1.13%), Cape Verde (1.22%), Ivory Coast (1.32%), Gambia (0.27%), Ghana (0.99%), Guinea (0.42%), Liberia (0.47%), Mali (0.53%), Niger (1.35%), Senegal (1.66%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.05%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.76%), Africa (1.14%), Europe (1.37%), North America (1.23%), South America (1.37%), Asia (0.66%) and the world (1.16%). However, percentage increase in total cases in Benin (3.93%), Nigeria (2.57%) and Togo (4.02%) was higher compared to Sierra Leone. Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.

Ivory Coast (3.42%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (2.56%), Cape Verde (1.57%), Ghana (1.34%), Guinea (1.23%), Mali (0.93%), Niger (1.32%), Nigeria (2.39%), Senegal (3.26%), MRU (1.55%), ECOWAS (1.97%), Africa (2.36%), Europe (2.04%), North America (1.93%), South America (1.11%), Asia (0.69%) and the world (1.62%). Benin, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (4.42%), Cape Verde (1.23%), Ivory Coast (1.55%), Gambia (1.56%), Ghana (0.71%), Guinea (1.45%), Liberia (1.80%), Mali (2.43%), Niger (2.55%), Nigeria (2.04%), Senegal (2.15%), Togo (2.17%), MRU (1.48%), ECOWAS (1.67%), Africa (1.64%), Europe (1.66%), North America (2.05%), South America (1.23%), Asia (0.70%) and the world (1.40%). Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
