Sierra Leone recorded 0.35% and 0.41% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Thursday (10:00 am) to Saturday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.44%), Cape Verde (2.79%), Ivory Coast (0.51%), Gambia (0.36%), Guinea (0.84%), Liberia (0.37%), Mali (1.18%), Nigeria (0.43%), Togo (1.21%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.60%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.53%), Africa (1.28%), Europe (3.84%), North America (1.53%), South America (1.41%), Asia (1.82%) and World (1.94%). However, increase in total cases in Ghana (0.34%), Niger (0.08%) and Senegal (0.26%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.
Cape Verde (2.82%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (1.69%), Ghana (0.99%), ECOWAS (0.23%), Africa (1.44%), Europe (0.81%), North America (0.87%), South America (1.34%), Asia (1.57%) and the World (1.13%). Benin, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.57%), Cape Verde (4.36%), Ivory Coast (0.75%), Gambia (11.36%), Ghana (0.69%), Guinea (0.87%), Mali (0.48%), Nigeria (0.41%), Senegal (1.06%), Togo (0.99%), MRU (0.74%), ECOWAS (0.92%), Africa (1.04%), Europe (1.44%), North America (1.96%), South America (1.25%), Asia (2.17%) and the World (1.74%). Increase in recoveries in Niger (0.09%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
