The Head Coach of Sierra Leone’s men’s national footdall team, Sellas Tetteh has resigned. In a short statement from the Sierra Leone Football Association, they said the Ghanaian-born coach cited “personal reasons” for the decision.
Tetteh who was re-appointed as the Leone Stars coach in 2019 has had a tough time with the national team, after failing to qualify the country for the next round of the FIFA 2022 World Cup and struggling in the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
His resignation comes just over a fortnight before Leone Stars clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Assistant Coach, John Keister, is expected to hold the fort and lead the team into the tie with Nigeria.
