Former Bo Rangers forward, Musa Noah Kamara popularly known as Musa Tombo yesterday 13th October allegedly made an attempt on his life by stabbing himself with a knife.
He was then taken to the Bo Government Hospital for medical attention.
According to a close friend who followed Musa to the hospital, he was said to be having issues with his wife Hawa which probably led him to self-inflict wounds on one part of his abdomen and hand. It was also alleged that he even took substances in an apparent attempt to kill himself.
Dr. Aruna Stevens attached to the hospital’s surgery department and who took charge of Musa from another doctor said the footballer was responding to treatment but declined to further comment on the health status of the patient saying that it was private.
The Police LUC Bo West, Micheal Lagga, and his personnel said they visited the hospital and were told by the nurses that Musa was brought to the hospital unconscious.
It is still unclear why the controversial player would attempt suicide.
However, he was recently seen in a short video that had gone viral on social media, asking for forgiveness from his wife Hawa who had earlier in another social media video expressed dissatisfaction over her husband’s conduct over an international club football contract in Libya.
“I made this video to apologize to my wife. I know that I have hurt her. I want fellow Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad to join me in begging my wife Mrs. Kamara aka Hawa Tombo", he said.
Musa in the video denied rumours of him impregnating another woman, asserting that he loves his wife.
Isata Bangura, a fan of the footballer who identified herself as a business woman says she went to the hospital to see if the news was true.
“He is my best footballer. What is going on with him is bad" she concluded.
Musa has twice threatened suicide after failed overseas contracts that he personally botched up, giving bizarre reasons for wanting to return home.
